Grant Gould, 87, a resident of Crawfordsville most of his life and a former Crawfordsville businessman, , died Saturday morning in Lila Hospital at Battle Creek, Mich., following a month’s illness. Born at Climax, Mich., near Battle Creek, where he spent his boyhood, Mr. Gould came to Crawfordsville when he was a young man. He operated a bicycle shop here several years. Later he was in the auto business and also worked as a painting contractor for a number of years. The family home in Crawfordsville was on west Main St. Mr. Gould returned to Climax, Mich., in 1944. Since then he had made his home with a sister there. Survivors include a son, Philetus S. Gould of Akron, Ohio, an official of the Goodyear Tire & Rubber Co.; the sister, Mrs. Cora Davis of Climax; two nieces, Miss. Opal McQuown of Crawfordsville and Mrs. John Warner of Indianapolis, and a nephew, Will VanCleave of Logansport. Funeral services for Mr. Gould will be conducted at 2 pm Monday at the Hunt and Son Mortuary in charge of Rev. John Servies. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home after 7 pm Sunday. - kbz
